If you want to get involved, here’s how

Firstly, we’re hugely excited about the response to our first post and to the idea of the anthology.

Many people have kindly offered their help. We’re looking to keep the editorial team quite tight for the time being because the idea is new and we’re still experimenting with the format.

However, we’d love it though if you could send us articles and posts that you’ve really enjoyed / challenged your thinking / made you consider a topic in a new light. Please send these posts by email to feministanthology2012@gmail.com

The list of sections that we’re working with at the moment for 2012 is:

  • The scope of feminism
  • The pay gap, women at the top
  • LGBQ and equal marriage
  • Trans* issues, RadFem 2012
  • Women of colour, faith and religion
  • Male feminists, allies and privilege
  • Sex work, representations of women, Anita Sarkeesian and No More Page 3
  • Rape and rape apologism (inc Assange and Dominique Strauss-Kahn)
  • Activism, Mark Kennedy
  • Abortion and bodily autonomy
  • Parenthood, childcare and raising children

These categories are tailored to 2012 and the issues that came up, so although there are some general ones, there are specifics too. Please email or comment with links to posts that you think deserve consideration.

This is pretty much the first draft of how to split this up, and it may well be that there are things we’ve missed entirely, or you may think we’ve divided up things that should be together, or smooshed stuff up that should be explored on it’s own. Please let us know if you think we need to work on the categories.

Another thing that we will need and don’t yet have is a cover. Because this is going to be an ebook, it’s easy to forget that a cover is still useful. If you are artistically inclined and fancy helping us out, please let us know, preferably by email.

Lastly, thank you. Thank you so much for being who you are. For being excited, intelligent and involved. For your enthusiasm for this project and this idea. And for your offers of help. This is a project to represent a community, and that cannot be done without the involvement of that community. Of you. Thank you.
